The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) achieved remarkable results in 2024, significantly advancing gender mainstreaming across government. In the year 2024, 66.66 percent of targeted national government agencies improved their gender mainstreaming performance, exceeding PCW’s 50 percent target by almost 17 percent. Its leadership in gender responsive policymaking was further demonstrated by issuing five Memorandum Circulars, engaging in the development of over 30 legislative measures, and successfully developing and submitting the Philippines’ Beijing Declaration Progress Report to the United Nations. The PCW led the Philippines’ participation in major international forums including the UN Commission on Status of Women, ASEAN platforms, and Asia Pacific regional cooperation on gender equality and the empowerment of women. After nearly two years of having no head of agency, its chairperson was appointed in June this year, along with six of its 12 civil society Members of the Board. The PCW achieved 88.17% budget utilization, maintained its ISO 9001:2015 certification, and received its 8th consecutive “Unmodified COA Audit Opinion”. The PCW received a total of four (4) awards of recognition from multiple entities in the year 2024.
