Good Practice Note on the Management of Workplace Mental Health and Well-Being: Preventing Psychosocial Risks and Promoting Positive Mental Health in the Workplace

This publication outlines practical steps for preventing psychosocial risks and promoting positive mental health in organizations and project workplaces. It covers topics that include preventing and mitigating mental health conditions, offering training, supporting access to psychological first aid, and facilitating people’s return to work after absence associated with mental health conditions. It notes the need to address discrimination, high workloads, and burnout, and explains how a stigma-free approach that prioritizes mental health and well-being fosters productivity and higher staff retention. The publication was jointly produced by the Asian Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
