This report analyzes gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) in Maldives’ tourism, energy, and urban development sectors and shows how steps including boosting education and supporting women entrepreneurs can help narrow the gender divide. The report outlines challenges including sociocultural perceptions and the lower participation of women and disadvantaged groups in the workforce, and highlights the need for stronger social protection measures.
