GREAT Women Project: Getting a Good View of Buenavista: Success of Buenavista in Building a Local Enabling Environment for Women’s Economic Empowerment

The municipality of Buenavista was chosen to implement the GREAT Women Project (GWP) because of the high poverty incidence, high economic growth potentials and presence of women entrepreneurs. This case study looks into the entrepreneurial efforts that had been initiated among women micro-entrepreneurs in Buenavista. It also highlights the role played by the LGU leadership and the GWP to support these eff orts and how these helped the process of empowering women in the long term.
